Sorry to anyone who has hired a contractor in good faith. Expecting to be served with the same integrity and care that you offer to others.

But no.

Instead, you were exposed to the caprice of short-sighted gain. Taken advantage of.

I’m sorry that the only consolation you’ve found comes from others who’ve been burned the same way—or from those who can only sympathize.

You were doing the right thing. Leveraging the division of labor. Trusting in a system that should work.

But you had the misfortune of hiring someone terrible.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to clean up after a bad contractor.

Fix problems left behind.

Undo the damage caused by someone who either didn’t know what they were doing—or worse, knew exactly what they were doing but didn’t care.

Being burned by someone you hire is a terrible feeling.

The “what ifs” start going through your mind.

Your sense of justice flares up.

You want things made right.

But justice?

It feels like a phantom—always just out of reach.

The past can’t change, but what can change is the future.

Every week, I meet with other business owners—not just to trade referrals, but to build a network of trust. We don’t just pass clients to anyone. We pass them to people we know will take care of them.

And it’s not just about protecting clients; it’s about maintaining a high standard among professionals who take pride in their work.

We are not going to tolerate people who abuse their clients.

Because here’s the thing: the Dishonest Companies shrink their own world.

Every time they take advantage of someone, their reputation erodes. Their opportunities dwindle. And while some of them may be so short-sighted or impulsive that they can’t see it happening, we do. We make sure they feel it.

It’s tragic, in a way. Some people and companies seemingly can’t help themselves and just live life taking advantage of people. They are destined for destruction—of trust, of opportunity, of their own futures.

We can’t change the past. But we can build a future where bad business has nowhere to hide.

Choose wisely who you trust. Support businesses that do it right. Hold accountable those that don’t.

Because integrity isn’t just an ideal. It’s the foundation of a person, a business and society.
